HOME CONNECTIONS

HOME CONNECTIONS

The St. Clair County Library System is pleased to offer the Home Connections Program. This program provides services to residents who are unable to get to the library because of:

  • Long term illness
  • Recovery from surgery or illness of 6 weeks or longer
  • Non‐driver status
  • Physical challenge
  • Problems getting out in the winter

Benefits of Homebound Services

  • Longer lending periods
  • Delivered right to your door
  • Personal reader advisory service to help find new authors

Why Homebound Service?

It is the library’s mission to offer access to quality educational and literary reading materials to residents of all ages to meet their personal and educational needs. This program lets us fulfill our mission and serve the community better by offering our services to residents who, for various reasons, are unable to visit the library.

How Do I Know I Will Get Materials I Enjoy?

Before sending materials to your home, a member of the LAMTB staff will contact you to discuss areas of interest which will help us better understand what types of authors, subjects, and books you prefer or any other information that may be helpful. We rely on your input in the area provided on the application to tell us what you like. We encourage requests for special titles or authors at any time.

How Long May I Borrow The Items I Take Out?

The lending period for all items through the homebound program is 7 weeks. The service is free to qualified St. Clair County residents. Materials are sent in purple mailbags. Just flip the pre‐stamped mail card so our address shows, and mail it back.

What Materials Can I Check Out?

We can deliver books (large or regular print, paperbacks and audio books) right to your home. Here are just a few examples you can choose from: New Fiction ● New Non‐Fiction Mysteries ● Biographies ● Classics Poetry ● Inspirational ● Art Humor ● Romances ● Large Print Westerns ● Cook Books Adventure ● History

Can I email a completed application?

Completed applications can be sent to LBPHStaff@stclaircounty.org
