Wi-Fi AND COMPUTER SERVICES
SCCLS offers computers for public use and Wi-Fi at all locations.
Desktop computers are available during library hours for those in need of Internet access or word processing software. Printing is available for 15 cents a page, black and white or color. Scanning is available and free.
Wi-Fi is available for free Internet access from your own device at all library locations, 24/7. Wireless printing is not available.
Wireless hotspots are available to check out at all locations.
A current library card is required to connect. Guest passes are available for those unable to apply for an SCCLS card.
Library Wi-Fi
To connect to the Wi-Fi:
- Choose the Patron network from available Wi-Fi networks on your device
- If a browser doesn't open automatically, visit https://sccspot.stclaircountylibrary.org
- Log in using your 14-digit library card number and 4-digit PIN number
To disconnect from the Wi-Fi:
- Return to https://sccspot.stclaircountylibrary.org in your browser
- Click End My Session
Wi-Fi Hotspots
Hotspots are available to check out from your local branch. See availability and place a hold through the catalog.
- Hotspots check out for 14 days. They will be deactivated once overdue.
- Borrowers must be 18 or over to check out a hotspot and are responsible for Internet use of minors.
- Hotspots will be limited to one per address.
- Overdue fees are $1.00 per day.
- Hotspots must be returned to a circulation desk. Returning to a drop box will result in a $5.00 fee.
- Hotspot service is reliant on T-Mobile cell towers, which may not cover all areas of St. Clair County.
- Hotspots should remain in a temperature-controlled environment. Please do not leave in your car.
- Borrowers must pay replacement costs if the device or cord is lost or damaged.
- Hotspots should never be left plugged in once fully charged. Doing so could lead to battery swelling.
