Welcome to the St. Clair County Library System's Summer Reading Program!
2026 is the summer to "Unearth a Story(tm)!" This year from June 13 - August 15 we explore the legends underfoot, from the bones of prehistoric giants to the relics of our own distant past.
Returning this year is our partner in minute-tracking, Beanstack! If you already have a Beanstack account with us, log back into the Beanstack app or website to join the challenge and start your logging. Otherwise, you can create an account after first searching for the St. Clair County Library System within Beanstack. If you aren't sure if you have an account, or if you would like to use paper logs instead, contact or visit your local library branch. Don't forget to join the challenge that best matches your age group or prize preferences!
There are rewards to be uncovered in your journey. Just for registering, you can immediately pick up your choice of a baseball cap, water bottle, or sippy cup with some sweet branding exclusive to this year's theme. Perfect for kicking off the sunny season!
You can earn your raffle tickets in several ways. Every 60 minutes logged earns one or more tickets, capping out at 80 tickets. An additional 54 tickets can be earned by attending certain programs by age group (found in this guide or the app), as well as for completing the Field Guide. The Field Guide rewards you for visiting all of our unique branches; visit any location to get started. Finishing the Field Guide also earns you an extra 200g of free 3D-printing material through our makerspace. (For more information about our makerspace, visit our website or email scclsmakerspace@stclaircounty.org for questions.) Finally, visit our bookmobile at one of its public stops for a couple more tickets and a great time!
Let's celebrate the soil beneath our toes and the histories that lay hidden within. So grab your trowel and join us, if you dig; ancient mysteries are waiting for you!
